Basic Steps to Electric Car Conversions.
At the current moment, I am interested in completing my own Electric Car Conversion. This being my first post on this topic I am by no means an expert at this point. I hope to be in the future, but at this point please bear with me! What I hope to do here is outline the basic steps in the Electric Car Conversion process. These processes are what I have been able to come up with through the limited research I have done as well as the logical flow of a process like this.
The initial steps I have outlined for this project are as follows:
Step 1 - Research. (Lots and lots of it. This is the current stage I am in and unfortunately it seems to look more and more difficult the more I learn about it! However I am not giving up!)
Step 2 - Conversion car selection.
Step 3 – Removal of the ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) components – ie, engine, exhaust, fuel tank etc as these parts are not needed and take up valuable battery real-estate.
Step 4 – Electric drive / battery selection.
Step 5 – Electric drive installation and battery installation.
Step 6 – Testing, trying to find the best amp / watt ratio to get the best performance from the engine.
Step 7 – Fine tuning / cosmetic issues.
Step 8 – Drive!

Texas Teen Builds His Own Electric Car on $10,000 Budget
This fall, Texas teenager Lucas Laborde will be driving to school in an electric car he built himself. The 17 year old spent last summer converting a conventional gas-powered car to run on batteries. Total cost? Around $10,000.
Luke’s EV is based on a kit car, known as a Bradley GT II, which his father bought on eBay for just $5000 splashing out a further $5700 on electric conversion parts and batteries. The rest was left up to Luke’s ingenuity and technical know-how.
After 150 hours of work, Luke had hooked up eight 80-pound lead-acid batteries in the space left after removing the fuel tank, as well as several other ‘creative locations.’ He finished up with an EV capable of travelling 40 miles between charges, a top speed of 45mph, (more than enough for the local school run), and heaps of low-end torque. As Luke told reporters, “it has a lot of power.”
The car isn’t without a few ‘quirks’ though; the weight of the batteries has caused the fiberglas body to twist slightly, meaning that the gull-wing doors don’t completely close. However, by using his own initiative, and making use of widely available existing components, Luke Laborde has put many global car companies to shame by creating a working, highway-ready EV, in far less time and on a much lower budget.

Moi aussi je fais ma fan des fois...
Voila, c'était ma participation à la permanence du blog de Nicoz qui est partie fêter ses épousailles à San Francisco (et qui est toute tatouée de partout d'où cette illustration). Sauf contretemps de programmation, ce fanart sera sur son blog à partir de 9h00 ce matin. Mais quoiqu'il en soit, va y faire un tour, on y fait de très très belles découvertes!!!
En ce qui concerne le concours ESPECE DE SALE RAT LACHEUR DE COMS POUR DE LA THUNE à qui je n'en veux pas une seconde dans la mesure où j'ai pu ainsi faire connaissance avec un paquet de toi Internaute qui n'avait jamais montré le bout de sa truffe, et surtout parce que finalement je me suis pas tapée la saisie informatique de tous tes pseudos (sans quoi je serai encore en train de cracher mon venin sur mon écran d'ordi), tout est entre les mains de l'organisatrice officielle, je te tiendrai au courant dès que le tirage au sort aura eu lieu. Merci en tout cas pour tous les adorables messages qui ont accompagné tes demandes quasi a genoux de gagner la carte bleue, ça m'a quand même fait chaud au coeur. (Oui je sais je suis naïve, je t'entend ricaner jusqu'ici).
Je termine en musique parce que ça fait longtemps et que je dois dire à une meuf dont le nom commence par Ro (comme rot) et termine par Ca (ben oué, comme caca) que je la kiffe et que j'aurai bien écouté du son toute la nuit en racontant nos lifes!!!

Bericht: Kurze Aufladezeiten (bei Laptop, Handy, Auto, etc,), und sauberere Luft, dank neuen Kondensatoren
Zwar behindern sich Menschen gegenseitig, weiterzukommen, und auch Behörden
behindern Bürger machmal weiterzukommen (wie im Fall Gemeindeverwaltung
Kaiserstuhl gegen Alexander Schiesser, seit bald zehn Jahren Dauer-Disput),
und es ist oft so kontraproduktiv für die Gemeinschaft, für die Wirtschaft,
etc., und trotzdem dreht sich die Welt weiter, und Forschung und Entwicklung
bleiben nicht stehen (so wie es im Gegenteil, und im Moment viele Menschen
tun, denn sie bleiben einfach stehen, wenn sie nicht mehr weiter wissen, und
horten ihr Geld unter dem Kopfkissen), auch wenn sie durch die lahme
Gesammtwirtschaft leiden. Forschung und Entwicklung, kann man nicht ganz
abschalten, so wie die Wirtschaft. Wenn die Wirtschaft stehen bleibt, bringt
das manchen Forscher und Investor fast zur Verzweiflung. Nur fast.
Forschung und Investitionen brauchen flüssige Mittel, sprich Cash. Und beide
Bereiche befruchten sich gegenseitig. Die meisten Menschen wissen nicht, wie
man fruchtbar zusammenarbeiten kann. Darum finden wenige "Befruchtungen"
statt, und es finden wenige Sinnergien statt.
- Und hier das Kern-Thema:
Welchen Einwohner von Kaiserstuhl interessiert das Thema nicht?: Täglich
brausen viele lärmende und stinkende Autos durchs Städtli: Bald sind sie
sauber und unhörbar. Ich erkläre hiermit, warum. Es könnte relativ schnell
gehen, weil kurze Aufladezeiten von Elektrofahrzeugen, deren Kauf attraktiver
machen, und die Kaufentscheidung für solche Fahrzeuge erleichtern.
Der "Switch" von der "Benzinkutsche" zur "Elektrokutsche" wird relativ
schnell gehen: Wegen den wesentlich verbesserten Kondensatoren, die kurze
Aufladezeiten ermöglichen.
Der Erfolg von Elektroautos, und deren Einführung, steht und fällt weniger von
einem Netzwerk von Ladestationen (siehe "Elekrobay" in England), als vielmehr
von der Entwicklung der Auto-Batterien.
Meine spontane Gedanken und Bemerkungen zu Kondensatoren (Capacitors), auf
englisch. Zusammenfassung zum Entwicklungsstand von Kondesatoren: Sie werden
leistungsfähiger und effizienter ( - um zu erfahren, was Kondensatoren sind,
schauen Sie bitte in Wikipedia, etc., nach):

batteries, which will drive the electric car "wave" / movement faster. The
shorter the recharging time for a electric car, the more attractive it will

till the meanstream motorists "go green".
It will make such a difference, if you will be able to recharge your mobile
laptop in only one minute, and rechare your electric car in a few minutes,
instead of, like ten hours, or more.

Is there a Ultra Capacitor or a SuperCapacitor in your future? YES!
As functionality increases in the digital age, so has our reliance on the traditional battery. The battery has not progressed far beyond the basic design developed by Alessandro Volta in the 19th century. Until just now. Recent work at MIT's Laboratory for Electromagnetic and Electronic Systems (LEES) offers the most economically viable alternative to conventional batteries in more than 200 years. The Ultracapacitor is both a battery and a capacitor. Ultracapacitors could allow laptops and cell phones to be charged in a minute. Unlike laptop batteries, which start to lose their ability to hold a charge after a year or two (several hundred charge/discharge cycles), ultracapacitors have hundreds of thousands of charge/discharge cycles and could still be going strong long after the device is obsolete. 'Theoretically, there's no process that would cause the [ultracapacitor] to need to be replaced.' says professor John Kassakian. |

Tastatur-Cover aus Silikon: Keine Krümmel-/Staub-Fänger-Tastatur mehr.
Die Preise für eine solche Schutz-Abdeckung varieren zwischen zwei und fünzehn Euro...: Ich kaufte sieben Stück à vier Euro, da ich vier Laptops gleichen Models besitze. (Nun ist noch der Display-/Bildschirm-Schutz an der Reihe.
Eine Leder-Hülle, welche das Gehäuse schützt, habe ich auch schon.
Last but not least: Die weiche Neopran-Hülle, für den Transport, sowie die Laptop-Tasche. - Und los, gehts, nach draussen, mobil, und von Wi-Fi-Hotspot zu Wi-Fi-Hotspot...

Mobile mit Mini-Laptop Asus Eee 1000 / 1000H
Ich habe soeben Zubehör für meinen Mini Mobile Laptop Asus EeePC 1000H
bestellt:
Neoprentasche, Umhängetasche, Ledertasche, Displayschutzfolie, Silikon
Tastaturabdeckung. - Extra-Ramkarte und externer DVD-Player, habe ich schon:
Da kann ich den Laptop bald unterwegs mitnehmen. Einfach noch ein
Linux-Betriebssystem installieren, und Wi-Fi einrichten, etc.
Zum Thema mobile Eee Mini-Laptops, gibt es hier zwei interessante Blogs:

Tastaturschutz.
Jedoch habe ich etwas Bedenken, ob der Silikon-Tastaturschutz für den
Minilaptop genau passt, da ich eine schweizer Tastatur habe. Na, ja: Solange
es etwas schützt, vor Krümmel und Staub, dass zwischen die Tasten fallen
würde...
Genf, ist Ideal, für die mobile Nutzung von Laptops, da es auf dem ganzen
Stadtgebiet öffentliche und kostenlose Wi-Fi-Hotspots hat:

La Radio Suisse Romande parle de .tel
Stéphane Délétroz, journaliste à la Radio Suisse Romande, a consacré sa chronique quotidienne “Quoi de neuf ?” du 8 juillet dernier sur La 1ère à l’extension .tel.
Malgré quelques approximations comme “.tel comme téléphone” (ce serait plutôt comme télécommunications) ou “sur FaceBook, c’est gratuit” (mais ce n’est pas du tout la même chose) , cette brève émission (5 minutes) a le mérite de synthétiser et de vulgariser le concept .tel pour le grand public.
